Messaging Platform Team

Messaging is a critical component in building connections with Airbnb’s users. Native engineers on the Messaging Platform team are responsible for the development and maintenance of the messaging infrastructure and core messaging functionalities that power Airbnb's messaging features. This includes tasks such as designing and implementing new platform features, and optimizing performance.  Auto-Translate is an example of a recent feature developed by our team, which has made Airbnb’s native messaging experience more seamless for our global user base.  

Insights & Superhost Team

The Insights & Superhost Client Engineering team’s mission is to partner with Airtbnb Hosts on their hosting journey, and build and provide them with insights on their performance through data, recognition, and growth opportunities. We also build the tools and components for the best host loyalty program (Superhost), and provide hosts timely and contextual feedback on their performance in order to help them improve and celebrate their accomplishments. The engineering team also drives our technical foundation tracks to up-level our iOS, Android, and web architecture; we are a critical team in Airbnb’s efforts to create consistent and memorable experiences at scale for all Airbnb Hosts & Guests.

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners such as Product Managers, Experience Designers and Engineers to design and deliver high-quality products on iOS
• Build efficient and reusable mobile components and architect reliable, performant, and scalable mobile solutions
• Mentor, guide, advocate and support the career growth of individual contributors
• Identify areas of improvement and drive mobile best practices

Your Expertise

• 5+ years’ experience developing iOS applications at scale with a high volume of users, preferably in Swift and SwiftUI
• You possess strong product sense and a passion for iOS UI and UX product development
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Product Management, Design, and other iOS, Android, and Web Engineers
• You’re passionate about continuous learning and innovation in the mobile industry
• Sound engineering and coding skills. Understanding of basic data structures and asynchronous programming
• You possess a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent professional experience

Your Location

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. Airbnb,Inc. can be employed in states where we have registered entities. Currently, employees can not be located in: Alaska, Indiana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Delaware and Rhode Island. How We'll Take Care of You

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay for this role is between $164,000.00 and $215,000.00. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
